Jesus(`Īsā ) – God’s word

Everyone with a Muslim background should be aware of the fact that the Koran (Quran) uses the title; "Messiah" of Jesus (`Īsā). Messiah in previous times is another word for Savior. The Koran also expresses Jesus as the word of God (Al Imran 3, 42-45). Muslims are therefore obligated to read the word of Jesus as the word of the Almighty. And the words of Jesus are found in the Gospels according to His disciples, in the New Testament.

The sacrifice that Jesus made is not just for the people with a Christian background, but equally for all people independent of any religious background. He died for our sins, to make a way for us back to God, since our sins separated us from Him (e.g. adultery, fornication, egoism, lewdness, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, envy, rivalry, unkindness, not loving your neighbor as yourself etc).
God is holy and no sinner can ever come into His Kingdom. But because of His love for us, He laid on Jesus the guilt and sins of us all and made a way back for us through Jesus. Jesus, who was without sin and thereby the only one who could serve our sentence, was willing to be born as a man and be that sacrificial lamb. What Jesus achieved on the cross, He did for us all.

"The next day he saw Jesus coming towards him, and said: Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!" (John 1, 29)

"Jesus Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us." (Galatians 3, 13)

"But God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5, 8)

"For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him" (2. Corinthians 5, 21)

"The Word":
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.".......And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John the Baptist bore witness of Him and cried out, saying; This was He of whom I said; He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me. And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but the grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him." (John 1, 1-5 & 14-18)

"But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name." (John 1, 12)

And they asked Him:
"If you are Messiah, tell us plainly. Jesus answered them, I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in My Father’s name, they bear witness of Me. But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you. My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them our of My Father’s hand. I and My Father are one." (John 10, 24-30)
